For first, when we come around these topics, people often say that they both are same...Well, they are partly right and partly wrong. Website Development and Website Designing are almost the same concepts but have slight differences between them. As we can see these both concepts are related to the same topic that is Website. The only difference is that one topic is the part of another one. Website Designing can be said as the sub-part of Website Development. If website designing is responsible for designing the layout of the website, then website development is responsible for the functionality of the website. Website development involves usage of various web languages for developing the website. Website development is done by the web developers. Just like a good interface is required for a website similarly a good functionality is also required.

There are basically two aspects of Website Development-

1.) Front-End :-

Front-End Developers are considered as the bridge between the web designers and Back-End Developers. Basically these developers have an important role in helping the web designers. The Front-End Developers need to be aware about the designing concepts like HTML, CSS, Java script, etc. and many more which are useful to design the look of the website.

2.) Back-End :-

Back-End Developers are responsible for controlling the data. So if a website takes any user's personal data, it's the back-end developer's job to store the user's data properly and make it available whenever required. These developers use different types of databases to store the data of the users. Hence, the website also requires database connection. Through this, back-end developer can manipulate with the data by writing certain queries to the database.

So, Now, after elaborating these two concepts in detail, there should be no confusion whether website designing and website development is same or different. We can clearly observe that both of these concepts are intedependant on each other. Both the concepts play an important role in website building and they cannot exist without each other. So, if we want to summarise the whole thing, we can say that Website designing depends upon web designers who need to understand the design principles and create a good and unique layout while Website development depends upon web developers who need to focus on the functionality of the website which should match with design layout and how the technology will work. Both Website Designing and Website Development need to perfectly implemented to make a website a good one and attract more users to the website....!!!

To understand these concepts more let's take an example of a Building. So, while constructing a building the first thing that needs to be decided is the look of the building. So the architecture (Web Designer) makes a model of the building which specifies the structure of the building, how many floors the building will have, how many flats a floor will have and many more. Once the model is completely ready then an interior designer (Front-End Developer) comes in play. The interior designer will make the design of the internal structure of each flat and the building. Once the interior design is ready, then it's the co-workers (Back-End Developer) job to finish the remaining work like from where the electricity and water will flow, will there be a lift in the building or not and many such things. Now when all these people work together, they build the Building. Similarly, it's with the website as well. Web designers and Web developers work together to build a particular website.
